If you are Teaching Music Theory at school there are a few critical bits that you must take notice of and get understanding of if you want your students to grow and learn. The first thing is that with music theory if the children don’t understand one thing then trying to teach them the second thing will be like trying to float in a boat with a hole in it! you’ll always be bucketing out water if you don’t make sure that kids understand the fundamentals. The names of the notes, what a chord is, what major and minor are – all of these things are really important to know before attempting any sort of harmony work.
