Electricity Save during Earth Hour
Friday, March 25th, 2011Earth Hour started in 2007 by WWF and the Sydney Morning Herald. This became a global the following year. Its goal was to raise global awareness for the need to take steps regarding climate change. Everyone was urged to turn off unnecessary lights and other electrical appliance and devices for one hour. Records show that electricity consumption dropped extensively during Earth Hour. Although it still receives negative criticisms from various skeptics, as expected, the result was still significant. Even if others did not know why they turned off their lights or they just gave in to peer pressure, results were still positive.
