When I used to work for Sony, I used to get calls from customers who wanted to use their televisions as computer monitors. One time, a man called and asked me how to connect laptop to hdtv. Thankfully, I had just had training in the subject, and I told the man that he could connect his laptop to his computer with a VGA cable, a DVI cable, an S-Video cable or an HDMI cable. The man’s laptop didn’t have an HDMI output port, and he wanted to get the best picture quality that he could get. So I told him to use a DVI to HDMI cable, which would give him better picture quality than either a VGA cable or an S-Video cable would. After a few minutes of fooling around with the laptop settings and finding the right input source on his TV, he was finally able to use his HDTV as a huge computer monitor. The man thanked me profusely, and asked to speak to my supervisor to commend me for my exceptional customer service.
