The sinus tarsus is a small tunnel in the joint which is located between two bones in the foot which are the talus and calcaneus. “Sinus” is the name for a tunnel or channel in bone and “tarsi” is the group of bones in the rear foot. On the other hand, Sinus Tarsi syndrome is a condition in which the structures in the sinus tarsi have somehow been damaged. This was noted that it can happen following an ankle sprain. On addition, it also involves the ligaments of the ankle which can be damage then the structures inside the sinus tarsi can get damaged too. Sinus tarsi syndrome can also occur from a flat footed individual because of the chronic pressure on the alignment of the foot.
