I always try to think of special things that I can give my grandchildren for their birthdays. We do not live near them, and I want them to know that I love them, even from a long ways away. Last year they seemed really pleased to be given a collector’s coin and a book on coin collecting. This year I am buying 2010 Silver Eagles to encourage them to start saving and investing in valuable things. I hope they like my choice of gift because they are three wonderful teenagers, and I am immensely proud of each one of them. Collecting valuable coins may not make them rich, but it will remind them of a grandfather who loved them very much.
