When you see ads wanting you to sell gold jewelry items, have you ever thought “What’s the point”?  The point is that by turning in old gold and silver items that you don’t wear or use anymore, you’re doing your part for the environment.  As more people send in their unwanted pieces, the less likely it will be for big companies to mine the land for these materials.  It takes a lot of mining to extract a small amount of gold and/or silver.  And in the long run, you can tell everyone that you did your part in saving our planet.
